Imogen
that is great
I had begun to be worried by how negative you sound, and obviously feel, about your job
I hope something improves in that area for you
and a bit less of the wasted talent please: all the OVO creations, setting up Pudding Lane, Sumpter yard before etc etc
and less worry about money on wine, steak and pate - you enjoyed them and probably often enjoyed them with friends/family. Life would hav ebeen dull without.
there are many talents there, many well used, it
seems to me a life lived pretty much to the full (not an epitaph, because there is definitely plenty of life left yet)

Thanks, Fran. I've decided that the chapter called "Imogen hates her work" is now finished, and the book closed. Being angry and difficult at work does oneself far more harm than the employer, so I am working on how to make my changed circumstances act in my favour, and inevitably this involves using the things I am good at (writing persuasive memos and papers, talking well, geeing up my team) to advantage. If this strategy fails, well at least I will have given it my best shot and had a more enjoyable time. Not quite sure how all the necessary quarts of activity are going to fit into the pint pot, but somehow they always do.
